History
International Partners has been conducting projects and sending delegations to El Salvador since 2000. The purpose of our delegations is to:
- Cultivate leadership capacity in delegates;
- Empower local leaders who are interested in developing self-sustaining projects in the world's poorest places
- Promote cultural understanding through personal partnerships; and
- Support grassroots development in poor communities
We are a volunteer program founded in 1998 by members of the Washington Ethical Society and sponsored by the American Ethical Union. Since its founding, IP has reached out to communities in El Salvador, Guatemala, Sierra Leone, the Gambia, Haiti, Ethiopia, and the Philippines.
International Partners is now independently incorporated as a 501 (c)3, public charity by the Internal Revenue Service.
